"Onion"

10"x8", oil on canvas

Well, This onion was not an object to inspire me to paint.
But the painting turned out quite all right than I expected.
Actually, there were lots of interesting variation of hue, color temperature, texture, reflections within that plain, large, drying up onion ... made me get involved, once I started to paint.

Hye, It has beautiful lighting and texture. Did you set it up in bright sun/spot light or was it your imagination? - geeti

Thanks for the compliment!!
The set up was in the cardboard box with the spot light. Since it was during the day, it has lighter ambiance all over even with the spot light, without much harsh contrast.. Onion was sitting on the off white cloth, kind of wrinkled and it had created uneven surface texture. I put pale blue paper on the back to give some life to the color of onion with out competing eachother too much.
